BRAND
Karma Guitars was founded by GHMX, a small corporation based in the north of México with a great team of designers, luthiers, and engineers all passionate about building instruments that matter. From the beginning, we’ve worked closely with professional musicians across México, learning from decades of their experience to understand what truly works on stage, in the studio, and in the hands of everyday players.
Our master luthier brings over 15 years of hands-on experience from working at the factory C.F. Martin & Co. based in our town Navojoa, Sonora, one of the most respected names in acoustic guitar craftsmanship worldwide. His expertise brings a layer of precision and tradition to Karma Guitars, helping anchor our young brand in real-world credibility and proven know-how.
Our guitars are the result of deep local insight shaped by years of feedback from Mexican musicians and the technical precision of some of the most advanced workshops in Asia, the same facilities trusted by others iconic brands.
By blending the soul of Mexican music with the craftsmanship and high-end capabilities of the East, we’re able to offer guitars that feel authentic, sound incredible, and meet the highest standards of quality without the inflated price tag. We’re proud to be part of that tradition, and to deliver that level of excellence in every Karma guitar.
Every Karma guitar begins in México, where all the details and technical specifications as wood selection, body shapes, dimensions and tone are carefully designed by our team.
To bring those designs to life, we partner with the three most renowned manufacturing facilities in Asia that many iconic brands like Takamine, Guild, Fender, Breedlove and others have trusted for decades. These workshops are known for their precision, consistency, and more than 50 years of experience building high-quality guitars.
Each Karma model is produced under strict quality standards to ensure that what leaves the factory meets the same expectations we set here at home. It’s this blend of local design and world-class craftsmanship that gives Karma Guitars their unique identity.

GUITAR CARE
To keep your Karma guitar looking and sounding its best, make it a habit to gently wipe it down with a soft microfiber cloth after every playing session. This simple step removes sweat, oils, and dust that can gradually wear down the finish and affect the wood over time. For a deeper clean, polish your guitar about once a month using products specifically made for musical instruments always avoiding harsh chemicals or rough materials. Taking these small daily and monthly steps will help your guitar stay beautiful and playable for years to come.
Caring for your Karma guitar with gentle cleaning will keep it looking and sounding great for years. Here’s how:
1. Microfiber Cloth
After each playing session, wipe down your guitar with a soft microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints, dust, and oils. This simple step helps protect the finish and keeps your instrument shining.
2. Guitar Polish
Use a polish made specifically for acoustic guitars. Apply a small amount to your cloth and gently follow the wood grain to bring out the natural beauty of your guitar’s finish. Avoid getting polish on the fretboard.
3. Fretboard Care
If your fretboard needs cleaning, use a lightly dampened cloth with water, never polish on the fretboard. Occasionally, you can apply lemon oil sparingly to condition the wood, making sure to wipe off any excess.
4. Strings
Wipe your strings after every use to remove oils and debris, which helps them last longer and sound cleaner.
5. Avoid
Never use household cleaners, abrasive cloths, or paper towels, they can damage the finish and materials.
6. Storage
When not playing, keep your guitar in its case or on a stand to protect it from dust and changes in humidity.
Regular, careful cleaning keeps your Karma guitar looking fresh and performing at its best ready for every stage.
To keep your fretboard in great shape, wipe it down with a soft microfiber cloth after each playing session to remove oils and dirt. For deeper care, you can prepare a mixture of 90% mineral oil and 10% lemon oil apply a small amount to each fret and gently rub it in using the cloth. Be sure to wipe away any excess oil to avoid buildup. Regular maintenance like this helps preserve the wood’s natural beauty and keeps your fretboard smooth and playable.
Proper temperature and humidity are essential for the longevity and playability of any acoustic guitar. Maintaining the right humidity helps prevent cracks and keeps your instrument feeling and sounding great. Ideally, humidity levels should be between 45% and 55%. Temperature is equally important your guitar should be kept around 21°C (70°F) for optimal care.
If you live in northern México or other regions with extreme heat, it’s especially important to protect your guitar from harsh conditions. High temperatures and dry air can cause wood to warp or crack, so storing your instrument inside its case when not in use is critical. Avoid placing your guitar near heaters, direct sunlight, ovens, fireplaces, or inside cars where temperatures can fluctuate widely.
For very dry or overly humid environments, consider using humidity control products like humidipacks inside your case. These help regulate moisture levels and keep your guitar safe from damage caused by the climate.
The safest place for your Karma guitar is always inside its case. Even when stored in a case, it’s important to maintain proper humidity and temperature to protect your instrument. If you prefer to keep your guitar out of the case, make sure the room is climate-controlled with air conditioning or heating as needed, plus a humidifier or dehumidifier to maintain stable moisture levels. Proper storage helps preserve your guitar’s tone, finish, and playability for years to come.
How often you change your Karma guitar strings depends on a few things:
1. How much you play: If you’re playing daily or gigging often, changing strings every 1 to 2 months is common.
2. String condition: When your strings start sounding dull, lose their brightness, or feel rough, it’s time for a change.
3. Performance needs: If you record or perform live regularly, fresh strings can make a big difference in your tone.
4. String type: Coated strings tend to last longer than uncoated ones.
5. Environment: Sweat, oils, and humidity affect string life. Wiping your strings down after playing helps them last longer.
Generally, strings last anywhere from 1 to 3 months with regular use, but trust your ears and hands they’ll tell you when it’s time. Keeping your strings fresh is one of the easiest ways to keep your Karma guitar sounding great.
Guitars are designed to perform best with a specific string tension that matches their body size, so we recommend sticking to the string gauge suggested for your instrument. That said, switching to a lighter gauge usually won’t harm your guitar. If you decide to try a different gauge, it’s a good idea to visit a qualified local luthier or guitar technician to have your guitar properly set up for the new strings this helps ensure the best playability and tone.
For any significant adjustments to your guitar’s neck or string action, we recommend taking your instrument to a qualified local guitar technician or luthier. Proper setup ensures optimal playability and helps avoid damage to your guitar.
