Karma Guitars® Limited Warranty

Effective as of: June 25, 2026

Who this warranty applies to

This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser of a Karma instrument or pickup system who resides in Mexico and purchased the product on karmaguitars.mx in Mexico. It is non-transferable and valid only for products used under normal conditions and with proper care.

1. Warranty registration

To validate this warranty, the original purchaser must register the product at https://karmaguitars.mx/pages/register-your-warranty within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date, providing proof of purchase (receipt or invoice). If not registered within that window, coverage is voided.

2. What's covered and for how long

Karma Guitars warrants that its instruments and pickup systems are free from defects in materials and workmanship for the following periods:

  • Instruments: 12 months from the original purchase date.
  • Pickups and electronics: 12 months from the original purchase date.

If a factory defect appears within the warranty period, we will repair it or, at our discretion, replace it, at no cost for labor or materials. The warranty covers repair or replacement; it does NOT include a cash refund. Genuine material and workmanship defects ARE covered and handled under this warranty and applicable law. It applies only to Karma-brand products, and only while they belong to the original purchaser.

3. This is normal maintenance, NOT a factory defect

To avoid misunderstandings, we'll say it plainly. The following are a normal part of owning a wood instrument and are NOT considered a manufacturing defect:

  • High or low action (string height) is a normal adjustment: it's regulated by the truss rod and changes with humidity and the season. It is not a defect.
  • Not holding tuning in the first few days is normal: new strings stretch and settle in.
  • Slight fret buzz depends on string gauge, action, and climate; it's corrected with a setup. It is not a defect unless there's a genuine manufacturing issue.
  • Needing a setup upon receiving the guitar is normal: the climate change between the factory, our warehouse, and your city moves the wood.
  • Variations in wood grain and color compared to site photos are normal: wood is natural and no two pieces are identical.
  • Tone is subjective: "it doesn't sound how I expected" is not a manufacturing defect.

4. Care and climate (owner's responsibility)

Wood is alive and reacts to humidity and temperature. It is your responsibility to keep your instrument between 45% and 55% humidity and around 70°F (21°C), store it in its case, and never expose it to sunlight, heat sources, or leave it inside a car.

Damage caused by climate or storage is not covered, including:

  • Cracking, warping, or lifting of the top or bridge due to humidity, dryness, heat, sun, or sweat.
  • Finish damage from improper exposure or storage.

5. Normal wear and consumables (not covered)

  • Strings, frets, saddles, nuts, batteries, and finishes.
  • Plated parts, hardware, and tuning pegs, including tarnishing from sweat or use.
  • Scratches, dents, and wear marks (pick, nail, belt buckle).

6. Misuse and modifications (void the warranty)

  • Impacts, drops, accidents, negligence, or improper maintenance.
  • Instruments with a missing, altered, or tampered serial number.

7. Shipping damage

Damage that occurs during shipping or transport is NOT covered by warranty. If your instrument arrives damaged, report it within 48 hours of delivery to warranty@karmaguitars.mx with photos of the packaging and the product, so we can file a claim with the carrier or insurer.

8. How we determine whether it's a defect

Karma evaluates each case using technical judgment to distinguish a manufacturing defect from a usage, maintenance, climate, or shipping issue. Our technical evaluation determines coverage, without prejudice to any rights granted by consumer protection law.

9. How to file a claim

To request warranty service, contact us first at warranty@karmaguitars.mx. You'll receive instructions and a Return Authorization (RA) number. Repairs and evaluations are not accepted without that number. Every claim must include:

  • Original proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
  • A description of the issue and photos or video.
  • The instrument's serial number and the owner's contact information.

The customer covers shipping and insurance to our service center. If the warranty claim is approved, Karma covers return shipping. If, after evaluation, the case is NOT covered under warranty (usage, maintenance, climate, or external damage), you'll be quoted for a standard repair, which you may accept or decline.

All warranty-covered repairs are performed by Karma or an authorized service center; any intervention by unauthorized third parties voids the warranty.

10. Limitation of liability

Karma Guitars' sole obligation under this warranty is to repair or replace defective parts, at our discretion. A repair or replacement does not extend or restart the original warranty period. Karma Guitars will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of time, income, or use of the product. Karma reserves the right to improve or modify any product without obligation to update or replace units already sold.

11. Legal notice

This limited warranty is the only valid warranty offered by Karma Guitars and replaces any other warranty, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. Some rights may vary under Mexican consumer protection law; this warranty complies with applicable requirements under the Federal Consumer Protection Law (PROFECO).
