The all-new Karma Spirit.
Make it yours
Karma Spirit. The first serious leap: pro construction and factory unison pairs at a price for those starting out big. Get it here or from your nearest dealer.
The day you stop playing around.
There's a moment when playing stops being a hobby and becomes something serious: you practice every day, you're getting invited to play, and you start thinking about the real stage. Karma SPIRIT is the guitar for that moment. This is where Karma makes its first big leap in construction, the one that separates a beginner's guitar from a musician's tool, without breaking your budget.
Reinforced bridge: built to really hold up.
Starting with the Karma SPIRIT, the bridge stops being a weak point. We add two covered reinforcement screws, one on each side, on top of the Bridge Doctor that our docerolas come with from the Spirit series on. Between the two systems, they spread out the enormous tension of the twelve strings so the top doesn't give way with use. It's the kind of detail you don't see, but you feel every time your guitar is still in tune after a three-hour rehearsal.
Big brands, different music.
At this price you're going to run into docerola names like: Fender CD60SCE-12, Ibanez AW5412CE, D'Angelico Premier Bowery 12 LS. Yes, they're serious, respectable brands, that's not up for debate. But all their 12-string guitars are made for folk, for rock, for people who play something else; they come tuned for that music and not for yours. The Karma Spirit 12 docerola is the only one in its range that arrives from the factory set up in unison pairs for regional and campirano music; you can play corridos tumbados, corridos bélicos and sierreño music, no problem. We're not saying they're bad: they just weren't made for you. The Karma Spirit was.
Who is the Karma Spirit for?
For the player who already practices every day and is starting to take it seriously: the one who's getting invited to play and wants a seriously built guitar without blowing the budget.
The sound, in words
It sounds firmer and holds up better than an entry-level guitar: the reinforced neck and the double-screw bridge give it stability, and from the factory it's strung in unison pairs to sound like Regional Mexican music.
How it feels to play
It feels like a real leap from entry level: a stable neck that doesn't fight the tuning, comfortable action set up by a luthier.
KARMA SPIRIT 12-BLK
The KARMA SPIRIT 12-BLK is an acoustic-electric docerola (12-string guitar) made for Regional Mexicano. It is the first step up in construction in the line, with a reinforced neck. Dreadnought body with cutaway, laminated mahogany top, mahogany back and sides, Double-X bracing and gloss finish in black. Mahogany neck with 2 carbon fiber rods, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and a 644 mm scale length. It has a Karma Boost 3-band preamp with tuner and a factory-installed Bridge Doctor, and ships from the factory with .010-.047 stainless steel strings in unison pairs. The case is sold separately; 12-month warranty.
Definitely not just any Docerola.
Bridge Doctor System
A system that sits inside the guitar, mounted under the bridge, with an adjustable pressure post that rests against the tail block and applies leverage to keep the top flat and stable.
Karma Boost™ EQ System
Powerful preamp system with chromatic tuner, built for playing live, featuring 3 bands, ceramic piezo and notch filter.
Double-X Bracing System
Double X bracing to handle unison-pair strings. This internal reinforcement spreads the extra tension, protects the top from giving way over the years and, at the same time, lets the guitar project more clarity and power.
Reinforced Bridge
Two bolts with nuts are installed through the bridge and the top, fastening them mechanically. The head of each bolt sits in a counterbore and is covered with a mother-of-pearl inlay, so it is hidden from the outside.
KARMA SPIRIT 6-BLK
The KARMA SPIRIT 6-BLK is a 6-string acoustic-electric guitar, the rhythm guitar (armonía) that accompanies the requinto in Regional Mexicano. It is the first step up in construction in the line, with a reinforced neck. Dreadnought body with cutaway, laminated mahogany top, mahogany back and sides, X-Bracing and gloss finish in black. Mahogany neck with 2 carbon fiber rods, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and a 644 mm scale length. It has a Karma Boost 3-band preamp with tuner, and ships from the factory with .010-.047 stainless steel strings. The case is sold separately; 12-month warranty.
